And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
Introduction
Introduction
Bro. Matt McGeary 10:30 on Sunday. We’ll eat at the fellowship Hall after service.
Bro. Branham leaves his discussion of the Godhead and continues teaching on Revelation Chapter Five.
140 Christ has redeemed us now. We are now redeemed. But He has not claimed His possession yet. Now, you might differ with that, but just hold on a minute, see. We’ll see. See? He hasn’t claimed it. See?
If He took the Book of Redemption, everything that Adam had and everything that he lost, Christ redeems back. And He has already redeemed us. But He hasn’t took the possession yet; He cannot until the time appointed.
And then will come the resurrection, and then the earth will be renewed again. And then He’ll take possession, His possession which He got when He redeemed us, but will do it at the appointed time. Oh, my!
(Ruth 4:1-12 parallels Revelation 5:1-6.)
So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son.
(In order to claim Naomi’s inheritance He must marry Ruth.)
The Bridegroom call will come right through this, when the Son of man will come down and come in human flesh to unite the two together. The Church has to be the Word, He is the Word, and the two unites together, and, to do that, it’ll take the manifestation of the revealing of the Son of man. Not a clergyman...
See, it’s Son of man, Jesus Christ, will come down in human flesh among us, and will make His Word so real that it’ll unite the Church and Him as one, the Bride, and then She’ll go Home to the Wedding Supper. Amen. She’s already united, see, we go to the Wedding Supper, not to the marriage. “…fill your flesh…self, of all the flesh of mighty men, ’cause the marriage of the Lamb has come.”
But, the Rapture, is going to the Wedding Supper. When, the Word here unites with the person, and they two become one. And then what does it do then? It manifests the Son of man again, not the church theologians. The Son of man! The Word and the Church becomes one. Whatever the Son of man done, He was the Word, the Church does the same thing.
64-0816 - Proving His Word
96 And then when the Church has the ceremony, makes their promises, then She takes the Bridegroom’s Name. Then She is no longer a church of the world. She is the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Not…I don’t mean, that, by name. I mean, that, by Birth, by nature, by power of God. By the revealed Truth of God, in the heart, She becomes a Christian Church, the great universal apostolic Christian Church. She becomes a part of Christ.
When She does that, She…Christ injects into Her His Own Spirit, His own Life. And the Bible said, to Adam and Eve, there, “You are no longer twain, but one.” And when the woman, Church, is married to Christ, they are no longer two. They are One. Christ in you! Amen. That’s it. His Life has been brought into you, then you become the Bride.
62-0121E - The Marriage Of The Lamb
(You are going to the celebration, but you are married here. He proposed to you before the foundation of the world, becomes one with you by the Token, and then claims His Bride under the Seventh Seal. Some will say that He has not begun His claiming work because the 7th Seal is not open. Lets look at that.)
397 Now, we have, in the completion here now, by the grace of God, all the mysteries of the six Seals that’s been sealed up, and we understand and know here that the Seventh Seal is not to be known to the public.
63-0324E - The Seventh Seal
(Third Pull was in secret)
399 And here, when the Seventh Seal, when He opened It, He also omitted It again, see. So we see that It is a complete mystery, therefore the hour is not yet for the mystery to be known.
Therefore, we’re this far, and the rest of It will be known right around about the time that Jesus appears on earth again, for His Bride, or whatever takes place at that time. Now, until that time, let’s just all pray, live good, straight, Christian lives, looking forward for His Coming.
63-0324E - The Seventh Seal
106 God’s great mystery, of how, it’s a secret. He kept it a secret. Nobody knowed nothing about it. Even the Angels didn’t understand it. See, He didn’t reveal it. That’s the reason, under our seventh mystery, when the Seventh Seal was opened, there was silence. Jesus, when He was on earth, they wanted to know when He would come.
He said, “It’s not…Even the Son Himself don’t know when it’s going to happen.” See, God has this all to Himself. It’s a secret. And that’s the reason there was silence in Heaven for a space of a half hour, and seven thunders utter their voices, and John was even forbidden to write it, see, the Coming of the Lord.
That’s one thing He hasn’t revealed yet, of how He will come, and when He will come. It’s a good thing that He doesn’t. No.
63-0728 - Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed
176 The Seventh Seal hasn’t opened yet, you know. That’s His Coming.
64-0719M - The Feast Of The Trumpets
270 And at the same time…Now, as soon as this Church (the Bride) is drawed together, She is taken up; and that mystery of the Seventh Seal, or the Seventh Seal, the mystery of going.
64-0719M - The Feast Of The Trumpets
(How do we explain this? We don’t have to, Bro. Branham did.)
182 And who would dare to say that wasn’t the inspired Word of God, when He foretold It here, and sent out yonder to Arizona and brought It right back, even with science and everything else, and proved It so! This Book is already opened, that’s right, just waiting for the Seventh Seal to be identified of the Coming of Christ.
63-1124M - What Shall I Do With Jesus Called Christ?
(Back to the Breach)
141 This is described in this Seven-Seal Book that we’re talking of now. All right. The Book of Redemption, it’s all described in here. All that what Christ will do at the end will be revealed to us this week, in the Seven Seals, if God will let us. See? All right.
(The seals tell us how He takes possession. He does His intercessory work during the church ages, but now He is doing His claiming work under the opening of the seals)
It will be revealed. And revealed, as the Seals break and are released to us, then we can see what this great plan of redemption is, and when and how it’s going to be done. It’s all hidden in this Book of mystery here. It’s sealed, got up with Seven Seals, and so the Lamb is the only One Who can break them.
143 Now, if you would like to look in the Scriptures, you can get over in Jeremiah and find out there. When he was going into the captivity of the land, you know, he bought his uncle…His uncle’s son had some property, and he went through that, sealing. And if we took it all…We got that also in the Seven Church Ages, them seals and so forth, in there.
And Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.
So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the Lord, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.
And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.
And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.
So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:
evidence … sealed … open—Two deeds were drawn up in a contract of sale; the one, the original copy, witnessed and sealed with the public seal; the other not so, but open, and therefore less authoritative, being but a copy. GATAKER thinks that the purchaser sealed the one with his own seal; the other he showed to witnesses that they might write their names on the back of it and know the contents; and that some details, for example, the conditions and time of redemption were in the sealed copy, which the parties might not choose to be known to the witnesses, and which were therefore not in the open copy. The sealed copy, when opened after the seventy years’ captivity, would greatly confirm the faith of those living at that time.
And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
And I charged Baruch before them, saying,
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.
195 Glory to God! I hoped you would catch it! Do you see what God did? He never revealed It to the high’s and prudent (so they could fuss about It for all this time), but He put It in a earthly Vessel and He created Himself His Own Son, Christ Jesus. And in this last day now He’s opening the seals and showing it to His Church.
Kept in a earthly Vessel so It wouldn’t rot or rust! Hallelujah! Oh! I know you think I’m a holy-roller. Maybe I am. You see? But there It is! It’s been kept wrapped in the Vessel of the earth that was redeemed out of the earth, come up on Easter morning where death’s seals could not hold Him any longer;
but He broke the seals and rose up, and proving Hisself in this last days that He is alive! He’s in His Church! He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. And that’s been hid from seminaries, it’s been hid from organizations.
196 And in this last days He’s revealing It by His Own Presence among His people. He gets somebody that He can get the world out of them and the things out of them (the churchanity out of them), so He can speak through them and reveal and open these seals like this Himself. See? Hallelujah! Oh, don’t you love Him? My, my, my!
61-0618 - Revelation, Chapter Five #2
For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
(Back to the Breach)
144 You see, a seal, in the Old Testament, was like a roll, like this. [Brother Branham now uses sheets of paper to illustrate the rolling, sealing, and opening of a scroll—Ed.] And here was a mystery, and this mystery was hidden. All right, it was sealed around and put here, the claim to so-and-so.
(Show picture of sealed book)
Then, the next mystery was wrapped around what this inheritance was, and stuck out here on this side, the claim to so-and-so. And went on down until it made a scroll, because people didn’t have books like this then. It was in a roll, (how many knows that?) called a scroll.
Well, a sealed scroll, you could break loose one here, what the mystery of this was, and tear it loose, and you could see what that claim was. And then break the other one loose, and you can see what that claim was.
(Someone hearing this story in the first century would have thought, “Seven seals? Oh, it was a will.”
In the Roman Empire, wills (as in a Last Will and Testament) were officially registered and filed at the government office. This was too expensive and official for most folks. There was another method (Gaius 2.147). A person invited the heir, the executor and (usually) five witnesses to attend. He dictated his will to a secretary. When the document was finished, it was rolled up. Each person attested that it was correct and official by wrapping a string around it, tying it, putting a drop of wax on his knot and then pressing his seal into the wax. Thus the will would have seven seals.
When it was time to make the inheritance official, the heir and the executor had to be there and a majority of the witnesses. A papyrus from A.D. 325 actually describes the opening of a will:
The executor says to the secretary: “In the presence of whom did you make out the will?”
The notary answers: “The signatories.”
The executor asks, “How many signatories are there?”
The notary answers, “Seven, and four are present.”
The executor says, “Let the four subscribe that they have recognized their own seals.”
After the signatories present had subscribed that they recognized their own seals, the will was opened and read. -Randolph Richards)
145 And the whole thing Here is Seven Seals, got the mysteries of God from the foundation of the world all sealed up in There, and revealed by seven different Seals, that, if God willing, let Him let us pull back these Seals and look down through the Book and find out what’s It all about. See? Oh, I hope we have a great time! There the mystery of redemption is sealed until…This Book could not be broken until the last angel’s Message.
146 The scroll is there. We knowed It was there. We know that It was redemption. We believed It was redemption. Jeremiah said, “This scroll must be kept…” As you read it there, he’ll say. He must be kept in a earthly vessel. See? Oh, what a beautiful thing there I could talk about, a while.
This scroll was kept in an earthly vessel, a vessel that once became flesh (glory!), died, rose again, and kept in a earthly vessel until the time of the purchase. Oh, my! Beautifully! All right.
147 Now, these Messages are all kept up until, this earthly vessel, until the time of God’s appointed time, at the last messenger at the earth. And all that these people had judged at, and said, “I know It’s there. I believe It’s there.” And they fought at It, and brought It forth and produced the things. By faith they believed It.
But now It’s going to be brought to us in revelation, and from the hand of God by vindication. God said so. He promised it.
63-0317E - The Breach Between The Seven Church Ages And The Seven Seals
Conclusion.
Conclusion.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
He purposefully places the treasure into breakable vessels. Not stone or brass or wood, but clay. The opening of the Seals is the Revelation of what is on the inside of the earthen vessel. It’s the mystery of Christ in you. Don’t let the dirt disguise the truth. God has hid His mystery in dirt to hide it from the wise and prudent, and revealed it by the opening of the Seals to babes who would learn.
